Red Barrels invites you to immerse yourself in spine-chilling horror, now with friends. Face the trials solo or in teams, but will you escape unchanged if you survive and complete the therapy?

SYNOPSIS

During the Cold War, human guinea pigs are forcefully enrolled by Murkoff Corporation to test cutting-edge brainwashing and mind control methods. In a world filled with distrust, fear, and violence, your morals, endurance, and sanity will be pushed to the brink—all for the sake of progress, science, and profit.

SURVIVE: SOLO OR COOP

As prisoners of Murkoff, you're trapped inside their facility. You can choose to tackle the trials alone or with a team of 2 to 4 players. While cooperation isn't mandatory for main objectives, it can be highly beneficial. Regardless of your group size, survival and escape are your ultimate goals. To earn your release, complete Murkoff's therapies and MK-Challenges—immersive story-driven experiences and shorter, modified tasks in redesigned map sections.

HIDE OR FLIGHT

Outlast's core gameplay revolves around evading enemies, hiding, and fleeing. Murkoff provides tools to enhance your stealth, slow down foes, and more, but you'll have to earn and upgrade them. These tools include:

• Stunning enemies
• Blinding them
• Seeing through walls
• Healing yourself and others

Murkoff will demand you perform disturbing tasks during trials and MK-Challenges before allowing your exit.

CHARACTER CUSTOMIZATION

Create and personalize your trial patient. Your cell is your home during therapy, customizable to your preferences. Choose tools, upgrades, and perks to match your playstyle. Meet the denizens of Murkoff’s Sinyala Facility, each aiding you through the Trials. Will you make it through?

INVESTIGATE

Abducted by Murkoff Corporation, you're subjected to unethical experiments to alter your psyche. Collect documents and items to expose Murkoff’s malpractice. The process includes:

• Break the Self: Attack test subjects' core beliefs to force purging of anything sacred or taboo.
• Build the Self: Introduce new ideology as a replacement during a period of calm and collegiality.
• Salvation: Subjects fully adopt the new ideology with rites of passage and symbolic acts.

WARNING

The Outlast Trials contain strobing and flashing lights, which may induce seizures in susceptible individuals. Expect intense violence, gore, graphic sexual content, and strong language. Proceed with caution.
